Book-fold style hard-back covers in blind-embossed cloth “Map of the Crimea Jame Wyld Charing Cross East London”
The map has been hand-coloured and features an inset map of Sevastopol town harbour showing the batteries and approaches and  further inset map of the wider region.
Marginalia declares “London…Published by James Wyld, Geographer to the Queen & H.R.H. Prince Albert, Charing Cross East & 2 Royal Exchange. August 9th 1854”
This is the First Edition, published immediately before the allied landing in Eupatoria, the Second Edition being published just six weeks later on September 26th to update after this event.

Front cover detached but present (see photos) otherwise with minor bumps/scuffs – map inside has a little light dust along exposed folds in places and one or two tiny holes along folds, one or two light smudges and minor bumps at edges otherwise in remarkably good condition
