Description
Charles Close was Director General of the Ordnance Survey from 1911-1922 and his governance saw many substantial improvements in OS mapping and management. He gives his name to the Charles Close Society, whose aim is to bring together those who have an interest in the OS and its maps.

Minor bumps/scuffs and a little edgewear externally.. inside there are one or two very minor marks, including a little light staining to early page edges and some general light evidence of use, binding slightly loose in places but otherwise generally good.
